This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember learning about a famous artist? How about time period? Well, with my amazing artists I create posters, work mats and enlarge artist prints specific to the lesson created. However, we do not have photo paper to make this possible. Can you help us see the world in color?
I am the art specialist in a K-5 arts school.
We are located in one of the poorest rural areas of the state. Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. I see about 975 students every week, from Kindergarten though grade five. All of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. About 70% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language.
My Project
Most students find that visual aids making learning easier. Visual aids help students decipher what they read and hear. Unfortunately, budget cuts have forced schools to cut back on printing costs and paper. For this reason, I am requesting paper for my color laser printer. With the use of the photo paper, I will be able to create posters, work mats and enlarge artist prints. Without new canon printer, I will be able to provide students with visual aids on topics being learned.
By funding this project you will enable so many students to experience the world in a digital art.
Art is so visual that they NEED your help! Thank you so much for your generosity!
