This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you image making a project without the correct materials? How about trying to painting without paint? It's hard to believe but this is a reality in my art classroom. I need paint and pans to store paint for my students to be able to express themselves for my projects this year.
I am an art teacher at an elementary school in beautiful Nevada.
The school that I teach at is a high at-risk school. I see about 975 students from kindergarten though grade five every week. All of the students receive free or reduced lunch where every child eats for free. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian (White) and 1% Asian. About 70% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language.
My Project
Our art room needs tempera paint in different colors so that students can continue to enrich their academics through the work that they do in art. By donating paint to our school, you will truly help provide a well-rounded education for our students.
Also, I am asking for 12 cupcake pans with lids , 2 per table, that I can store and pass out paint easily. When its time to clean up I can simply put the lid on the pan and safely store for another day.
Your donation will make a great impact on my art students. I feel that the more knowledge and instruction in the art field that I give, the better their appetite grows. I'm preparing these students for the outside world and the opportunities to create art as a career. I want them to have the desire to go to museums to see the original art from these artists. Their little fingers are just itching to get started. We are so grateful for the support our generous donors give.
With this new paint and pans, over 1,000 students will be able to participate by making art, thus making it a better learning environment to increase your students' academic achievement.
