My Students
I teach Mandarin to 8th&9th grade-schoolers. Our school is a Title I (over 90% of students receive free breakfast, lunch, and public transportation) Boston Public School.
Many of our students come from low-income families; all of our students receive free lunch.
Many of them will hopefully be the first in their families to go to college. Over half of them do not speak English at home, and for many, English is not their first language. Most of them are ELLs.
My students are creative, well-behaved, fun, and filled with potential! They are a diverse group of students, and a few of them have Individual Educational Plans, in which they require differentiated learning. However, they are all performing tremendously, and they have a strong work ethic!
My Project
Hi, when we learn a language, we aim to communicate with each other and share our thoughts! In my language classroom, I hope each student can express themselves! By doing this, they can practice languages as well. But many of students are shy and would like to share their opinions by whiteboard.
So, could you please help my students get some Dry Erase Markers?
With these markers, they can quickly write down their ideas on their little whiteboard at any time! Also, with these markers, we can save more paper!
More than half of students from low‑income households
