This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine being a child living in the 21st Century with only 20th Century technology in your classroom? My students are growing up in an impoverished area, while the school supply budget continues to shrink every year. We need help with supplies.

My First Grade students are bright scholars, ready to be challenged.

Some need backpacks, uniforms, pencils and other supplies. Our school is a Title 1 school, which provides free lunches for all. We are able to meet some of their needs through the generous donations of others, but not all needs have been met.

My Project

I want my students to have an awesome learning environment. I am requesting a 35mm camera and printer because I have used both of my own in the classroom, but both have broken. Students feel proud when they see images of themselves beside their writing. They need balls, jump ropes, rubber balls, and basketballs, for recess. I need copy paper so that my students can have a variety of math, science, language arts worksheets in class. We need a sturdy pencil sharpener because we do a lot of writing. I also know that my students love receiving incentives such as stickers.

I will be exceedingly grateful to have my project funded, and so will my students.

The exercise equipment will brighten their days, the camera and printer will brighten our classroom walls. The pencil sharpener will help us to stay on track, time-wise with less interruption for broken pencils. Finally, what six year old would not want a motivational sticker to make them feel special?
