This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine going to school and not having the school supplies that are needed to be successful. This is the type of fear that my students face everyday. They do not have the supplies they need in order to be successful in 3rd grade.

The students in my classroom come from a low income community.

100% of the students are provided with a free breakfast and lunch due to their school being Title 1. The students come to school and this is their only safe haven. The community that the students live in is not necessarily safe for the children. Having no support at home really is hindering their success in school. The students families can not provide school supplies for the children so it is up to the teachers to do so. The students are always willing to learn and eager to come to school because their classroom is a positive environment for them. Without paper and pencils, the students are not going to be successful in their schooling. The students love interacting with their peers and really enjoy coming to school. The students are eager to learn but can not do so with out the necessary supplies.

My Project

The students in my class will use the supplies so that they are able to complete classwork and homework. Without paper, it is hard to provide the students with materials to help practice the material that they are learning. Homework is very important because it helps them to practice what they learned. The students can not do homework if there is no paper for them to do so. The construction paper will be used so that the students can complete projects. The students in my class are very crafty and enjoy creating artwork. Pencils are important because they need to be able to write. My students would appreciate all of the supplies that are needed.

My project will make a difference because my students will be successful.

They will be able to have classwork and homework. Most of the time, the students look for ward to doing their homework since they can not play outside because it is not safe for them. Without paper, they will not be able to do so. The students would also benefit from this donation because they will have pencils to complete their work.
