My Students

My students were born into an era where technology is all around them. It seems that every time you turn around, there are advancements and machinery making lives easier. So why not use technology to make reading fun? The NOOKcolor e-reader will make this possible.

I have special and general education kindergarten students.

My students attend a Title I public school in New York City. My students have a love for reading, but do not have enough resources to facilitate good reading habits. Many of my students are struggling with reading and my students with disabilities benefit from visual and auditory aids. A NOOKcolor e-reader will help strengthen their reading skills.

My Project

I am requesting a NOOKcolor e-reader. This reader will make it easier for my kindergarten students to gain the confidence they need to become great readers. My students will be able to read along with words on the NOOKcolor e-reader. By using this e-reader, my students will be able to prove to themselves and show others that they are able to read and work on their own.

Reading is fundamental.

It is a very important part of everyday life. I want to offer my students as many opportunities as possible to develop strong reading skills early on in their lives. The NOOKcolor e-reader will encourage independent reading for my students and make reading fun and interactive for them.
