This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful class of hard working students. They are in special education, so you can gather that they are behind academically, but every day I see growth with their progress. They are always trying their best to succeed.

I have fourth and fifth grade students in my special education class.

They are all wonderful, respectful, hard working students. They all have different strengths and needs. I have a total of 11 students. Seven of these students are in 4th grade and four of these students are in 5th grade. We work on those needs and we shine with our strengths. Our class theme is to be super star students that always try our best.

My Project

I am a special education teacher that wants my students to succeed. Often times when other activities are going on in our class, such as when we do stations for language arts, they struggle to stay focused on the task at hand. I currently have one set of noise canceling headphones and they can make such a difference. Since I only have one right now not all of them have access to this useful tool. When they have them on they are able to stay in their world and focus on their task at hand, making them more successful.

Having these useful headphones in my class will allow my students to be more successful.

It will allow them to read silently or do independent work when I am working with another group of students. Having them will allow them to not get distracted as easily and to stay focused for their task at hand.
