My Students
Keeping the attention of a seventh grader can be tough. We need more interesting books to both keep students engaged in their reading and also to help further develop their reading skills.
In my classroom, I employ the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project approach to literacy.
Doing so means that each student spends time daily on independent reading. Additionally, each student reads a book at their individual level, which means as a classroom teacher, I need many books at many levels to run this program and help my students to achieve.
My Project
We need more resources. As you know, school budgets are getting cut left and right, leaving schools (and teachers) strapped trying to find ways to support their classrooms. My students and I need your support now, more than ever before! I want all of my students to be reading at grade level. My students deserve an opportunity to succeed and grow as readers. I have requested series books that rock!
