My Project
It's amazing just how much paper we use in the elementary classroom! Lined paper, copy paper, watercolor paper, construction paper...you name a type of paper and we likely use it!
Our black construction paper stash has reached abysmally low levels.
We use black construction paper for many art and content lessons throughout the school year. Art projects tend to "pop" when they have a frame of bright black construction paper around them. Most recently, we used a large quantity of black construction paper to create our moon journals for our current science unit. Students love these, as they are able to use the seldom utilized white colored pencils to sketch the moon and stars in their journals each night. Later this Spring, we will have an art unit that utilizes black construction paper for the art journals students create. Much of this project will go to that endeavor!
The black construction paper in this project will be split among the three 4/5th grade classes. This will last us through the end of the current school year.
