Do you remember how difficult mathematics concepts were when you were not given hands-on materials? The same as my students, I was always an extremely hands-on learner. These materials will improve their chances to grow, learn, and be the best that they can be!
My students are extremely hard working, and they show such a passion for learning!
I have never seen a group of children as enthusiastic about learning as these children. At our school, most of our students don't have any exposure to concrete math materials in their homes, so the best exposure they get to math concepts is at school. Due to budget cuts and very little funds for classrooms, we are forced to use what we have.
My Project
Mathematics concepts throughout the years seem to continue to get more and more rigorous. My students learn so much easier when they are given concrete materials to manipulate. I would love to provide them opportunities to use their hands and witness these math concepts all begin to come together! These materials that have already been made will be great for math centers and give the students these opportunities to explore math concepts. I hope all of my 2nd grade students will spend a portion of their school day enjoying and learning using these Grab & Play Partner Math Games, and Math Instant Learning Centers. This generation of children need this educational support in order to learn in the best way possible.
I feel this project is going to tremendously help my students as it provides concrete centers to expand their understanding!
My classroom will begin to be equipped with these hands-on materials that I feel every child should be provided with! Our project is important because with your help we can increase the use of manipulatives in our classroom. The students of this day and time learn best with the support of concrete materials.
