My Students
Enthusiastic, Interested, Encouraging, Amazing! These are my students on a daily basis. I see the entire school each week, and these students are always eager to learn about our new topic of the week.
Most of our students are Title l students and struggle with the day to day items such as having 3 meals a day.
They get up each day, come to school, and are ready to learn. It is truly amazing to meet and teach such students.
My Project
As small and tiny as these supplies seem, our students need knee highs and black pants in order to maintain a uniform look for our community outreach performances. Even though our students are from a Title 1 school we would still like to make a great impression at our performances.
In years past, I have made it a requirement to have knee highs or stockings for girls and black socks for boys.
There would always be a student or two without the required uniform not because they are rebellious or forgetful, but because they simply didn't have it. One day I purchased a box for myself and realized that my students had a need. Many of them couldn't afford to get a pair for each performance as in significant as the cost seems.
I would like my students to all look great! No matter their income level.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
