Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember going on field trips in elementary school? Field trips are very fun hands on learning experiences. Help me create those memories for my students.
My students are inquisitive 1st graders.
They attend a public school in Northern California. Their school receives 100% free lunch. They may not have the monetary resources that some students have at home, but they have a love for school and learning.
My Project
I am requesting funding for a bus to take us to the Aquarium of the Bay. Even though this facility is relatively close to where my students live, many have never been there. I would like for my students to be able to see and touch some of the wildlife that they see on television and in textbooks. My students would get to learn about the marine life that surrounds them.
Field trips provide experiences that enrich a child's education.
I want my students to learn about the world we live in, and what we can do to preserve it. Resources are very tight in my school district. In schools where the majority of parents are financially stable the teachers ask them to fund buses, and study trips. This is something I can't do. My students deserve to have the same experiences at a public school as others in wealthier areas.
