My students need a set of problem-solving STEM kits, place value blocks, a set of geometric shapes, a history learning center, and 30 blank books to create their own published books.
Think back to your time in second grade. What specific things do you remember about this time? I know that the learning opportunities that stick out the most for me are the ones that were hands-on. I would like to provide the same learning experience and memories for my students.
I teach a gifted and talented class of 28 amazingly incredible second graders.
This is our second year together and we have become a family! As the matriarch of our family, I want my students to learn as much as they can during our time together. I feel that, when we do hands-on activities, my students show a greater understanding of the concepts that we are learning.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will help me to provide these memorable experiences for my students. Each of the hands-on kits for social studies, math, and science will help my students to understand the concepts in a much clearer manner. Additionally, you will help me provide each of my students with the memory of publishing their very own hardcover books; an experience that won't soon be forgotten. The set of hardcover books will be used for the students to create their very own writing anthology, showcasing their best writing throughout the year.
