Our classroom is a place where students are asked to think critically, explore, discuss, and create. In our classroom, you hear students encourage each other, ask questions, and help others.
The first graders in our class are hard-working and responsible learners with contagious energy!
They love learning (and laughing)! They are incredibly appreciative of the smallest gestures.
The students in our class engage in learning differently. Our classroom is not a one size fits all place. I want all my students to feel that they have the tools they need to help them be successful!
My Project
In our classroom, books are not just used to teach about reading. Books open our eyes to the world, challenge us to think critically, problem solve, and investigate. Books make us feel, help us understand, and urge us to act.We are requesting diverse books whose characters reflect who my students are.
We are a diverse group of students that deserve to be represented in the literature we read.
The books in our classroom should act as mirrors for my students. I want students to see themselves reflected in the stories we read.
The books from this project will help to create a more inclusive library in our classroom. These books will help to develop compassion, empathy, and love in our young learners while ensuring that all students feel accepted and LOVED.
