My students are from a Title I School in Philadelphia. Most are living in a single parent, grandparent or foster parent home. I teach grades K-8 and interact with every student. They are curious, have lots of energy and always eager to try something new.
My students need deodorant.
Many have inconsistent living situations and do not have access to showers, or basic hygiene products. Students need to feel comfortable in order to learn. They cannot learn if they are worried about their bodies or how their peers might react to their hygiene.
My Project
My students will be able to concentrate in the classroom when they feel clean and comfortable. Many of my students have inconsistent housing or inconsistent care at home. Most of the middle school age students are going through puberty and do not have the proper hygiene products to feel clean.
When students feel clean, they are ready to learn.
They do not have to worry about being bullied or targeted by their peers. Deodorant will help so many students feel safe, healthy and able to relax in class. Please help!
