Did you enjoy science when you were a child? My students truly enjoy science and we would like to provide them with hands-on opportunities to learn about the butterfly life cycle.
I teach a very diverse group of third graders.
Our class is an inclusion classroom, which is regular and special education students together in one room. As teachers, we try to differentiate our lessons to accommodate all of our learners. This group in particular is a very active group, and they learn better through kinesthetic activities.
My Project
We would love to provide our students with the opportunity to see the butterfly life cycle in action! We will be able to interest our students and have them take ownership of a butterflies life. There is no better way to learn than to actually see the butterfly go through metamorphosis right before their eyes! Once the butterflies change the students will learn the responsibility of feeding them, and they will be able to observe and appreciate their patterns of behavior.
This project will keep the love of science alive in our classroom.
Our children truly appreciate science and enjoy learning with us everyday. Although to some this project may seems small, to us it is an amazing project that the children will remember for years to come!
