We Need Costumes For Our Musical

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

TK students are very young and many of their experiences here at school are firsts for the students. Our musical performance will be a first for them. The t-shirts and costumes I am requesting in this project will help these young artists get into character during their performance in our musical, "The Wide-Mouthed Frog."

The TK students have learned countless social and academic skills this year and I am so very excited for them to have the opportunity to combine all of their science and literacy skills with art, music, dance, and storytelling to put on a musical performance of The Wide Mouthed Frog for their families, for their fellow students here at the school, and for the community at our local TedX Kids expo.

The t-shirts will help students visually see which students are which characters. The green frogs, tan monkeys, charcoal grey elephants, yellow lions, and crocodile costumes will help students easily distinguish which classmates are performing each song. This will help the students develop ownership of the songs and dances in this musical, and gain the independence necessary for the repetition and practice they need to be successful in their first performance for an audience.
