My students need a variety of books such as, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Shiloh, The Lemonade War and many more. These books will help to spark their interest during independent reading time.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Nimmer's classroom raised $176

My Students
My students walk into the classroom every day ready to learn and participate in all of the daily activities. I teach at a Title I school in NC, where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch every day.
We also have close to 90 students who bring backpack food home with them on the weekends.
Many of the students also rely on the community food bank for the meals they don't receive when they are not in school.
My Project
I am requesting books for the classroom to update our independent reading library. I teach 3rd graders who are on a wide range of reading levels. The materials in the classroom don't always reach through all of those levels.
I would like the students to be excited about independent reading by having more books to choose from.
The students will have full access to the books in the classroom. They will be able to read on their own, or with a friend during the school day. I can't think of a better way to get them excited about reading than to open a box of brand new books for them.
