My students are a beautiful, culturally and linguistically diverse group with differing abilities. My classroom is hands- and brains-on, and we love to learn from one another.
My students give their all in the classroom despite facing the incredible challenge of learning a new language and assimilating to a new culture.
My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and to become lifelong learners. They have made my life brighter, and I would like to brighten theirs in return! They are so deserving!
My Project
This year is unlike any other! Teachers and students, alike, are carrying the burden of this pandemic. While I am currently teaching my students in person, we are acutely aware that there may be a need for remote learning at any time.
My students need books they can use individually at school and have at home in the event of remote learning.
Remote learning is digital, but books don't have to be. With this project, I would have enough books on my students' levels to be able to send some home with them to use during remote learning. When meeting with me virtually, they would be able to hold and read out of a real book. Without your help, my students won't have access to these important resources.
