My students need book collections such as the King Series books, the Clifford Series, books on weather, seasons, family, and transportation to enhance student literacy.
My kindergarten students love to be read to every day. I am trying to encourage my students to gain the confidence to read on their own. To build their confidence, I need a variety of books that not only interest them, but are available for them to read.
I teach general and special education students in a Title I public school in New York.
My students enjoy flipping through books and reading. They enjoy independently and with their friends. Unfortunately, I do not have enough books in my classroom library to give them a variety of choices to choose from. I am trying to build the classroom library to enhance classroom reading and student literacy. The King Series, Clifford Series, books on weather, seasons, family, and transportation books will make that possible.
My Project
My students need a various book set collections including the King Series which are books made specifically for my beginning readers. I am also requesting book collections on the Clifford Series, books on weather, seasons, family, and transportation. I am requesting 5 different series of books to help build my classroom library. Each series comes with 5 or more books so there will be enough books for my students to choose from.
Reading is fundamental.
It is a very important part of everyday life. Most of my students do not have the opportunity at home to read these types of books, they are only able to do this in a classroom setting.
I want to offer my students as many opportunities as possible to develop strong reading skills early on in their lives.
