My Students

My students are very active, energetic, and enthusiastic. They enjoy coming to school, learning new things, and playing with friends. As we work to foster a positive school environment, my students learn what it means to be respectful, responsible, and productive students.

As a teacher in a Title I school, many of my students live in areas of high poverty.

All of the students I teach are provided free breakfast and lunch each day. My students also have the option to participate in a free after school program in which dinner is provided. This program provides struggling students with the extra support they need to be successful in school and in life.

My Project

My students need books to build their personal libraries at home. Often times they do not have books at home that they can read to learn or for fun, and if they do the options are limited. It is more important than ever that we get books in the hands of our students so they have the tools they need to learn and grow as readers, regardless of whether they are receiving instruction at school or at home. These books will provide students with texts that are interesting and on their level. Additionally, this will allow them the opportunity to practice using the reading strategies they are learning at school at home too!
