My students need 'Big Books' for our youngest developmental Pre-School and Kindergarten students. Sadly we have none in our library now, and we would love some!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. O.'s classroom raised $224
This project is fully funded
My Students
Many of our youngest students struggle living in poverty and have unpredictable living situations. Our developmental, special needs Pre-School and K students love to learn and have an extraordinary staff working with them. There are no funds for "big books" which they will love!
We are a Title One school, with an 85% poverty group of students, developmental Pre-K - 6th grade.
Our ELL students are from all over the world. I work very hard to try and keep our Library collection up to date and current but it's difficult with massive budget cuts the last four years. Most of our students rarely go a public Library for story time, due to lack of parent involvement and/or transportation issues. For many of our students our little Library is the only resource they will have access to.
My Project
I have chosen several wonderful "big" books that cover a variety of content, with both fiction and non-fiction information. The topics, ideas and art in the new books will be a welcome change from our "little" books! They will be a fabulous resources for all our students and staff. They will be well-used and loved.
I was gifted recently with a really wonderful "big book" reading stand, but have 0 books for it.
Please help us fill it!!! We have no funds for this and are sadly lacking in this area.
