We Need Back to School Supplies

My students need a variety of school supplies: paper towels, tissues, disinfectant spray, air freshener, desk organizers, and disinfecting wipes to keep our classroom germ free!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in the South Bronx, teaching grade 6 ELA, at a middle school where 99% of the students qualify for free lunch. They attend school regularly and exhibit a willingness to learn despite their circumstances.

My students live and attend school in the poorest congressional district in the United States.

They appreciate all the help that they can get. It is difficult for them to bring classroom supplies, let alone help for the extra things we need in class. They are thankful for all that they receive and show their appreciation in words and their work.

My Project

Every school year, the flu and cold season means more students being sick and spreading germs. Our classroom is a breeding ground for nasty slimy germs, and if you are a germaphobe like me, I can't be without tissues, disinfectant sprays, and wipes. These supplies will minimize the spread of germs, which means more students attending school instead of staying home because they are sick. Please consider helping our project. I have 100 VERY appreciative children who appreciate everything they receive. Less germs, more in class time for learning. Once again, these supplies will minimize the spread of germs, which means more students attending school instead of staying home because they are sick.

This project is important because, due to budget cuts and the fact that most of my students cannot afford these supplies, I need help to supplement what they need in order to be successful and healthy learners.

These supplies for my classroom will enhance the learning of all students. We appreciate the little things that we can get.
