My students need a new piece of furniture to store our STEM and Art projects in. With close to 1,000 students we need a place to store them safely and securely.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a Second Language. I see about a thousand students every week, from Kindergarten to grade five.
My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state.
Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. All of the students receive free or reduced rate lunch, and some of them even go home without food on the weekends.
My Project
I am requesting a new piece of furniture to store our STEM and Art projects. With the giant bins and cubbies, we will be able to safely store project for almost 1,000 students.
With a new emphasis on STEM learning in the Common Core Curriculum, this storage unit will allow us to store some of our hands-on items that we can use for learning.
For example, we need a place for our Magna-Tiles and spirograph sets. These items are amazing in the Art room incorporating Science, Engineering, and Math.
The benefit of STEM and the Art room are endless! However, with limited space, we need this storage unit to safely put things away. Our STEM related items such as Magna-Tiles, and spirograph set take up lots of room and we have no place to put them. My kids love these items and are able to create art using with different sizes of gears and colorful gel pens.
The new piece of furniture will be used to store STEM supplies and works in progress.
Also, the storage item will help my students to get their supplies faster and make clean up time more efficient, allowing them to spend more of their class time working on their projects.
