My Project
In order to build the skills of working together to construct their own learning, our class of 19 first graders is learning to sit together and learn in community. With a rug that has individual spaces for students to sit, they can have a safe space for their bodies while the develop the skills of sitting with their peers and sharing ideas.
Tools like a rug with designated spaces can support students to engage in collaborative learning while meeting their developmental needs. This provides an amazing opportunity for students to grow in their habits of discussion with one another.
