We Need a Projector to Jump into the 21st Century.
My students need a projector to create interactive and realistic experiences.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Spanish in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students come from all different walks of life. They are diverse and unique. They want to be successful, but realize that in many cases that the odds are against them. My students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom. It is a constant struggle to incorporate technology into their lessons because my classroom is devoid of technology. My students would benefit greatly if we had a smartboard or at least a projector.
My students want the same resources as everyone else to be successful.
Regardless of the the many challenges they face, I am trying to add to their knowledge of the outside world by bringing technology into their lives through Spanish and the Spanish speaking world while providing my students with memorable, authentic, and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
At this point in time, my classroom is the only foreign language classroom without technology. We cannot view movies or videos relevant to our subject area. My students would benefit greatly from a projector because it would help them incorporate their 21st century skills in the Spanish classroom. This would be an opportunity to open their minds to different cultures, languages and experiences.
These materials would enhance our authentic learning experiences and bring life back into our classroom.
Serving a population of predominantly visual learners, not having a projector poses a problem. The projector would enable them to see and interact with these authentic experiences, landscapes and culture associated with the cultural component of our world languages curriculum.
