My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? Do you know the exciting feeling of being the first to crack the spine of a brand new book. My students are great, but some need more encouragement to enable them to become the readers we know they can be!
My students are a mix of general and special education students from all backgrounds.
My school is a Title 1 school with a high level of student poverty. Giving my students the chance to read new and exciting books is all they need to enter new worlds and see what awaits them as they continue to grow.
My Project
Our books are faded and worn. Many are held together by tape and a wish. I am requesting new leveled books, both fiction and nonfiction, to inspire students to read more. It is a shame that schools to not have the resources they need to keep up to date with the titles that the students find interesting to read, but that is why we turn to generous donors like you!
My students are getting ready to enter middle school and my goal is to have them leave middle school with a passion for reading that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
