This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you used a computer? My students are learning how to use a computer for the first time. With the use of the netbook and projector, I will be able to model the uses of a computer in a whole group setting.

My first grade students are a wonderful and energetic bunch.

They come to school with an eagerness to learn and apply their newfound knowledge in various ways. Unfortunately, most of my students do not have access to technology on a regular basis. Their computer time is limited to 30 minutes in the lab every other week. During their computer lab time, they learn how to use the computer and research their current projects.

My Project

The netbook along with the projector will provide an opportunity to make my lessons come alive. We can find up to date information using the Internet to research what the students are learning. Students will be able to watch educational videos and clips to enhance their learning. i.e. For our weather unit, students will be able to learn what the weather is like all over the world and compare it to their local weather.

Your generous donations will make a tremendous difference in how I teach my lessons on a daily basis.

Students will receive up to date information about their surroundings and their world. I would be able to use the resources provided to me by the publishers to enhance the curriculum. Students will be able to use the netbook to research what they are currently learning in an interactive setting.
