I am an AIS teacher located in the New York City. I teach eager kindergarten, first, second and third grade children who are struggling readers and writers. My students are devoted to learning but need a different approach toward their education. They need small group instruction that uses many types of manipulatives.
When my children are successful, the look of wonder in their eyes is a sight to behold.
It is truly what makes being a teacher the best job in the world.
My Project
My students are desperate to be able to use a new Microsoft Surface Pro 6 to add a little art and creativity to our science. The Surface Pro is like a chameleon. It can change into whatever my students need during any science lesson. We want to write and create fascinating stories that can be manipulated, animated and preserved on a computer. Imagine the glow of pride when my students not only write, but also produce short scientific stories or research reports on a computer.
Versatility wins the day when teaching children to conduct scientific inquires.
The adjustments that might be necessary would be seamless when it is just a click of a key on the computer.
