The Surface Pro 4 is like a chameleon tablet; it can change into whatever my students need during our reading lessons. Having flexibility with technology makes integrating art and visuals SO much easier!
I am an RTI teacher located in the Bronx, New York City.
I teach students who have been identified as at-risk of needing special ed services. Students that I work with need opportunities to learn through a variety of interventions. Many of these students highly benefit from visuals, technology and the hands-on integrated experiences of both!
My Project
With the help of a Surface Pro, the possibilities are endless. Students can use websites that not only read to them, but also highlight and label visuals. Instead of black and white worksheets, the use of color and animation will help students remain focused on what they are working on. When people (because remember, my students are little people) are given the right tools, amazing things can happen!
My students need a variety of learning tools, especially ones that come alive and add a twist of art and technology, in order to make gains in reading.
Imagine what we could have done with these tools as elementary students! Thank you so much for your consideration!
