Help us explore the world of books with a listening center! Children love having books read to them. This center is essential in a kindergarten classroom.
Many of my students come from homes of poverty.
School is the place that has the proper materials for them to learn and explore. There are lots of children who do not have books at home. In order to get them interested in literacy, we must expose them to books as much as we can in the classroom.
My Project
Children love having books read to them. The listening center is a popular center in a kindergarten classroom. It allows them to practice reading with the assistance of a narrator. They are able to enjoy books during center time, while the teacher is working in small groups.
Students learn to love or hate reading early in life.
A listening center with books, a CD player and headphones is a fun way for students to explore books. This will help students begin to love reading. They can listen to their favorite books over and over, while seeing the words which will help them learn to read. Therefore, a listening center would help the students learn to love books!
