Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our district educates approximately 250 residential and day students in kindergarten through grade 12 who have emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. Most students reside here and live in cottages with an array of different staff members supporting them.
The computer lab is open to students in grades kindergarten through twelve.
Our classroom is designed to attract all ages and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere of happiness to it when you enter. We try to keep a peaceful environment. Lessons are tailored to each student's ability and most often, one-on-one instruction is necessary.
My Project
Help me give my students space! We need a laptop to help supplement with the Chromebooks they are using. We are in need of space and programs and the Chromebooks aren't cutting it. It's been ok and we are managing but without our computer classroom, printers, programs and everything we are used to, the Chromebooks are a challenge. I would love to get a few laptops so that the student cans get back onto the full programs we have been working with and not these apps and easy websites and small Chromebooks which make it very hard to teach and view the students work. I think one laptop would help out until we get our classroom back.
