Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What is the difference between a doodle and a piece of fine art? Often it is the context. Framing work legitimizes it and encourages viewers to consider it more carefully and thoughtfully. We need nice frames to present our students' artwork professionally in various exhibitions.
I am the art specialist in a K-5 Arts school.
We are located in one of the poorest rural areas of the state. Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. I see about 975 students every week, from kindergarten though grade five. All of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. About 70% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language.
My Project
Simply put, frames make an art show look professional, legitimate, and stylish!
Exhibitions are the goal and the payoff for all the hard work that students do during the year. It gives them a chance to show their work to the public and other students at school.
The frames we are asking for would allow students present their work in the most professional way possible.
We are proud this visual art program is able to do so much with so little. However, sometimes we just need a little more help. This is one of those times.
These frames we request will make all the difference to students who will truly appreciate them, by allowing the students to present their work in a legitimate, professional manner.
The more our students see themselves as real artists, the more they will actually become real artists -and a quality frame can help.
