My students need a document camera in order to observe reading and writing mini lesson materials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I can hear them straighten up, put their pencils down and turn their heads towards the screen. This is what happens when I turn off the lights to turn on the overhead projector. My students are visual learners and are so much more engaged and enthusiastic when technology is involved.
My students are 6-8th grade special education students.
They attend a k-8 public school in New York. They are a self-contained bridge class of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, so I have all different reading levels, math skills, writing skills, interest levels and learning styles, but they all love technology.
My Project
With a document camera my students will be able to all see me work on revising essays, or see the words during a read aloud during mini lessons. As a result, they will be so much more focused, engaged and willing to participate. My students will be so much more attentive and will be more likely to really grasp concepts taught when they see it in action!
If you help support this project, I will finally be able to give my students what they crave-technology!!
As much as I love (really love, actually) creating charts, I know they are not the most engaging materials to use each and every day. Thank you for your support.
