My students need pillows and a mat for a comfy classroom library area! They are avid readers and with the weather getting cooler, I'd like them to have a cozy area to read on, rather than the cold, bare floor.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a rainbow class of very diverse students. We are an urban neighborhood public school filled with over 1,100 students of all socio-economic, academic and cultural backgrounds. 91% of our students receive free or reduced -price meals and our families need support in providing supplies necessary for my students to learn to the best of their ability.
Despite some family financial setbacks, my students have a drive to learn and love to come to school every day.
They are attentive, engaged and love to interact with one another, sharing ideas and knowledge. It is truly my joy to see them come alive when they learn and share new things in our classroom.
My Project
My students love to read, and while we have a good selection of books to read, we do not have a warm place to sit and read comfortably. This mat and these pillows will help me provide that space.
Warmth and comfort will give my students what they need to read more.
I want to continue to foster my students' love of reading by giving them a cozy area, other than their desks to read in. The mat and pillows will allow them to relax instead of being aware of how cold the wooden floor is.
