This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of third graders. They come to school ready and eager to learn; however, we are Title I school and have a high population of low income families, some of whom are living at or near the poverty level. Because our families are on very limited budgets, some students don't have backpacks to hold their school supplies. Yet, our families love and care very much for their children and want the best education for them. Our students deserve to have every opportunity to be academically successful.
My Project
As a third grade class, we don’t have any class sets of books. I believe it’s important for students to have books read to them. My third grade students need a class set of the book called Horrible Harry Moves to Third Grade. This book is at their grade level and a wonderful fiction book. It’s funny and interesting. It will keep them entertained as they learn new words and improve their reading comprehension. Please help my third graders by donating to my project. My students and I will be so appreciative. Reading can be fun if you have the right book!
