My students need a new bookshelf that is low to the ground for supplies and storage.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a Second Language. I see about a thousand students every week, from Kindergarten to grade five.
My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state.
Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. All of the students receive free or reduced rate lunch, and some of them even go home without food on the weekends.
My Project
My K-5 grade students are eager to learn and demonstrate their creativity. However, it takes them too much time to get materials due to the organization in our classroom. It would benefit our class if the materials were labeled and organized in shelves or cubbies for easy access.
I see over 1084 students a week and my art room needs to be neat and organized!
If I had a bookshelf, it would become possible to give students all the supplies they need for a project in just a few seconds. It would also help my students clean up more efficiently, saving valuable class time!
The bookshelf will be used to store supplies or works in progress. The trouble is that there is not enough student-friendly storage available to make the art accessible to the students all the time. This storage unit will put art into the hands of the students and allow all students to find the style they enjoy. My students will learn to appreciate and value more art history then I can provide in a year and with a more personal level of interest.
The storage item will help my students to get their supplies faster and make clean up time more efficient, allowing them to spend more of their class time working on their projects.
