Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the luckiest teacher in the world because I get to spend each day with enthusiastic little learners. They love to learn and find answers to questions.
I work with many students who are English language learners and students with special needs, but they are the hardest workers I know.
My students need a comfortable environment so that they feel at ease and confident each day and are ready to learn.
My Project
My students love graphic novels. We rarely have enough to go around in our school library. Reading books about Dogman, Cat Kid, and Captain Underpants keep students reading for longer which increases their reading stamina.
These graphic novels will help students increase their independent reading time and keep them engaged.
These books foster first graders' love of reading because they think they are funny, include short sentences and are written in a comic book format. Please help us grow our classroom libraries and keep kids reading. Thank you for considering.
