My Students

I have a classroom full of amazing and inspiring first graders. They are all unique individuals with shining personalities. They want to learn, and they prove that to me every day.

With that being said, all of my first graders want to learn, and they will, but not necessarily on the same day or in the same way.

I teach at a Title I school with a high mobility rate. I want to level the playing field for my future doctors, teachers, scientists, business owners, and artists.

My Project

My students always have their nose in a book. They are eager to become better readers every day. They ask me all the time for more books, the demand is high, but getting new books so often is difficult.

The more books in their hands, the more they are able to continue growing their brains.

I know that my students would be reading these books during every second of the day. They would take the Elephant and Piggie books and read with partners under the counter. They would take the Dr. Seuss books, which is a new favorite, and try to find the rhyming words.

My students love to read, and I want to get more books into their hands.
