My Students

I am sure every teacher talks about how their students are the best. But, I like to think that mine truly are. I have a very diverse group of kids this year. I have a student who doesn't speak English, a student with a serious medical condition which requires a lot of extra help, and a student with special needs, not to mention all the regular differences and abilities you would find in any classroom.

The reason my students truly are the best you can get is because they are good, kind humans.

You would never know my student who doesn't speak English had a language barrier. You wouldn't see my boy with the medical condition standing out in any way. You wouldn't observe my special needs student being left out or ignored. My students are loving, accepting, and kind. I have been in awe of them as they have helped and assisted my students who need it over and over again without being asked and without looking for a reward or praise. They do it because they are the good in the world. My hopes are high for our future. My students have given me that hope.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my classroom by providing students with a box of books that is all their own. They will be able to store their books and easily change them when they want new ones by having durable boxes that will not fall apart on them. The phonics games will help students learn to read in fun and engaging ways.

Students will be engaged in small group activities playing games and reading books while I am teaching small skill groups.

These activities will help my students continue to learn even when they are not being taught directly by me. The phonics games will also have a natural added benefit of building social skills as students learn and play together.
