This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 2nd graders come from low socioeconomic families, with parents who are working multiple jobs. My students often have to take care of younger siblings and be leaders in their homes at only 7 and 8 years old.

School can be a place where my students can smile, laugh, and have fun.

My classroom is more than just a place for learning content. It's a community where my students develop life skills, become positive members of a community, and learn independence. I work to provide opportunities for students to develop, express, and influence decisions in the classroom community.

My Project

Your donation will help build my classroom leveled library where students can have a variety of choices added to the leveled bins. Having these little leveled readers will motivate my 2nd grade students to grab a book and read, talk and share with others. The students that are not at grade leveled will benefit tremendously from these little readers . Please help my students continue their love for reading.

Reading is a very important part of education in fact the lower grades are the most crucial times to build a foundation in reading.

The opportunity to read books of interest on their level will build their confidence and help them become better readers.
