This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school everyday excited to learn! My school is a Title 1 school, with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latinos at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.

My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school and they enjoy learning!

I teach Kindergarten through 3rd grade Special Education. My students have various disabilities including Developmental Delay, Autism, Emotional Disabilities, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities.

My Project

These leveled reading books will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be able to read and receive instruction at their individual reading level. They will be able to see their progression in moving from one level to the next.

Receiving these leveled reading books will improve their school lives because they will become extra motivated to improve their reading skills!

My students do not receive new materials each year, so a lot of the books they're reading from are very old and falling apart. Receiving new books will excite my students and make them want to read them!
