Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how exciting it was browsing through books when you were 6 years old? My first grade special education students love to read and browse through books.
My small special education class is composed of students who love books.
The majority of them will choose a book as a preferred activity during their break time. There are some who are beginning to read and try hard to read the words using clues from the pictures, but even the ones that are not reading yet will pick out a book to enjoy whenever they can.
My Project
The Leap Frog Tag systems will allow my students to pick out a Tag book and follow along while they point to the corresponding words. My students will be able to read a whole story on their own with the help of the Tag system during their independent activity time, which will give them independence and feel successful while learning how to read.
This project is very important to me because I want my students to develop a long-life love for reading.
This reading system will motivate them and allow them to feel good about themselves while learning to read.
