This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our second grade classroom is made up of a diverse group of learners who come from many different backgrounds. Our school is in a high poverty area. Our learning community strongly benefits from hands-on- learning and real world experiences. Our second grade learners utilize a variety of learning materials including books, subject area activities, learning tools and other consumables. We appreciate any donation whether it is big or small. Thank you in advance for considering our second grade classroom!
My Project
Our class enjoys reading! The students would greatly benefit from an organized leveled library. A leveled library promote access for students to choose books a their individual reading level. The organization of materials and their convenient accessibility allows students to quickly begin learning, reading, and writing.
The leveled library system including library cart, bins, and books will provide the students with easy access to books at their individual reading levels.
The donations in this project will allow our students to choose a book at their individual reading level as well as what they are interested in reading about. Our second grade class reads independently each day for up to 30 minutes.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
