My Students

My PreK scholars are amazing! They are the only full day class in our school. They are eager to learn and love being in school. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school where kids feel safe, loved, and motivated.

As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss and study racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement, and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).

My Project

My Pre-K Scholars love to practice writing and learning the letters in their name. The scholars practice letter recognition during play, in small groups, and during large group instruction. Learning letters and sounds will help them to become readers!

Having new hands on materials to practice letters and sounds will not only engage my scholars, it will help them to strengthen important skills needed for reading!

We are looking forward to using the magnetic white boards to spell our names with the magnetic letters and to write new words. My hope is to have enough letters to personalize a bag for each child containing the letters of their name. The letter games will be a great new way for scholars to enjoy letter practice and work together.
