Our school provides early intervention services for children ages 3 to 5 with various developmental delays. Students receive services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech and language therapy while attending a special education preschool.
I believe that all children should be able to experience a hands-on, developmentally appropriate preschool regardless of their abilities, and that is what I strive to do every day.
I love to learn and hope to provide my students the same love of learning through play and exploration!
My Project
In preparing for next school year, there are a few items that we are in great need of to start the year off right.
I always reflect on the past school year and these are a few items that we would have been very helpful.
First, we are in need of a big book display to help support our new big books as we read them at circle or table time. Second, we need pointers to help us point to words and pictures in our books as well as our calendar and charts. Next, we need play foam to help our busy hands during group times as a way to help us pay attention. We also need the foam as a non-allergen alternative to play-dough. Finally, we need bands to put on our chairs to help our little feet have stability while sitting.
