My students need interactive science kits and engaging and interesting books and magazines to keep them learning and encouraging their scientific minds.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Children need to do more than read out of a textbook to learn about science!
My location has high poverty, but great kids!
Many of the families in this area have limited financial resources and have been hit hard by the current economic conditions. It creates a hardship in the home and the classroom. The students' background These kids are wonderful. They are loving, sweet, and really enjoy school. I teach a third grade English Language Learner classroom. We are also joined by a vision impaired student multiple times a day. We are located on a k-6 elementary campus.
My Project
The resources that I am requesting will keep my students engaged throughout the year in reading, math, social studies, and especially science. To motivate learning and encourage curiosity we will make our own fossils, explore the solar system, and use our imaginations to take weekly trips around the world, all from our classroom! These activities will help the students realize that their is much more in the world then the small community in which they live.
This project will make a difference in the educational careers of my young students.
By Participating in these science activities they will know how exciting learning about science is.\!
