My Students

Our 6th grade rock stars can't wait to read their next novel! We have a phenomenal group of 6th graders who truly love reading and writing. Our students are DC Public School students and are now realizing how a good novel can be an escape, a connection, a journey or a light bulb.

Our school prides itself on creating lifelong learners and our students live this everyday!

Our students come to school excited to read, learn, and grow. With your help, our students can achieve their goals of becoming stronger readers and writers.

My Project

Our students will use these reading books daily in their college literature class and nightly at home for independent reading. Research shows that the best way to improve reading ability is for students to read books on their level. My students need access to high interest books that are on their level. This year in class we will be reading independently for over 100 minutes per week. My students love reading and are finishing all of the books that I currently have so I need new novels to keep pushing them!

With these books, my students will be able to increase their reading levels AND their love of reading.

My hope is that these books will help develop my 6th graders into life-long readers!
