This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students come to school without snacks, lunch, or breakfast. Our school is a Title I school, which means our school is underfunded. Many of my students come from poverty-stricken homes. My students come hungry and are hungry throughout the day, which impacts their social-emotional health and attention. I would like to provide my students with snacks throughout the day. At times my students express hunger through tantrums and struggle to use their words. We continue to work on our communication skills. The snacks will provide reinforcement for their request and nourishment.
