Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is working hard to provide students the opportunity to reach their full potential. We support and value our students. My students are from diverse backgrounds and they are kind hearted individuals. My students are eager to learn new things and they love hands-on learning experiences. I have a curriculum to teach my students music and I am excited to teach these lessons.
The materials in this project include a selection of musical instruments that will spark my student's interest in music.
My project includes rhythm blocks, rain sticks, cymbals, xylophones, ukuleles, bongo drums, a tongue drum, Boomwhackers, bells, tambourines, rhythm sticks and dance ribbons. My students will play these musical instruments and learn the names of the instruments. My students will identify the instruments that are percussion and are played by striking them. My students will be excited to strike the bells, xylophone, cymbals and the drums.
My students will learn which instruments add rhythmic patterns and textures in music by shaking them. I can't wait to see my students excitement as they shake the rain sticks and maracas that are included in the Bob McGrath Rhythm Band Set. This band set includes a variety of musical instruments which is a wonderful way for students to experiment with music.
All the musical instruments in this project will be used to implement a music curriculum that I already have in class. Thank you for supporting our project. I can't wait to receive these music instruments and help my students continue to nurture their interest in music.
